Exam 1 Review

EXAM 1
  1. Exam 1 is on Feb 18.
  2. The exam will cover everything we've done so far.
  3. It will consist of questions just like the quiz questions.
  4. We'll review on Feb 16. Look at the material ahead of time so you know what you want to review.
STUDYING
  1. To do well, you will want to review--
    • blog posts & your own notes
    • feedback on your quiz (returning Friday)
    • feedback on your RRs
    • the readings
  2. Make good use of the blog but don't memorize anything--must express ideas in your own words
DURING EXAM
  1. Be specific (e.g. explain ideas in specific sections of Epictetus)
  2. Elaborate (e.g. "what is hedonism?")--one sentence is rarely enough
  3. Give complete explanations--(e.g. Haybron's objection to Vitrano)
  4. Make sure you understand what an argument is
